Bow Ties

When you want to stand out, or wear something unique to a formal event/presentation you should never question what to do. You might want to try something with your hair but, when you are tall no one will notice. You could try something with your shoes, however who is going to stare at your feet? The one solid way to be noticed is that you should always wear a bow-tie.

Why Bow Ties are Great

  • Super Spies wear them (James Bond)
  • They were invented by Croatian mercenaries ( who doesn't want to be like a buff mercenary or a Croatian)
  • It looks stylish and helps your collar stay closed
  • There are an infinite amount of designs!
  • A gentleman wears a bow tie (every man should be a gentleman)
  • Less than 5% of men know how to tie a bow tie! (don't be the majority and learn how to tie one!)

How to Beat your Brothers at Just Dance

Are you tired of losing just dance to either younger siblings or the older ones who always win? Well here is the guaranteed way to win.
The first method is called the bathroom method. The way the bathroom method works is your target uses the bathroom while the song is going. To use this method properly follow these quick and easy steps.
1. Make sure the target drinks a lot of liquid
2. Have the target drink more liquid
An alternate form of the two previous steps is to get some special sugar free gummy bears that have certain effects on peoples bowels but this is a much riskier route.
3. Make sure you stress its okay to wait til it is an emergency to run to the bathroom
4. Always make sure the game is left unpaused

The second method is the Wii remote sabotage. This sabotage takes two things some almost dead batteries and a little bit of time.
1. First pick out the batteries you are going to use and make sure they are almost dead but have enough charge to at least go for 5 minutes
2. Hide the extra charged batteries really well
3. Put the almost dead batteries in the wii remote your opponent will be using then start a song
4. When your opponents batteries do run out just point in a general direction and say the batteries are over there and you will be safe to win the next few songs!

The third and last method is the power off the System method. This is by far the easiest method ever and is a sure fire way to win by default well technically you can call it a tie but its not a loss and that's what counts.
1. There is only one step to this method and it is Whenever you think you are losing so badly you cannot recover power off the system asap

And those are three of the easy ways to win at just dance using subterfuge and ingenuity.

The Best superhero

Batman is the best superhero no question no one can even begin to compare to him. In the movie Batman v. Superman he would have killed Superman if there moms hadn't had the same name. When compared to marvel heroes he is practically Tony Stark Captain America and a detective plus some all in one! Plus he has an awesome car and jet along with the best gadgets and costume. There really is no fictional superhero that can even begin to compare with him because even without superpowers he can take down anyone by himself. (Well Alfred will probably help out) Even his apprentices know he is unstoppable, therefore batman is the best superhero ever.

Being a PK in Vegas

PK- acronym used for preachers kid
Vegas- nickname for Las Vegas, Nevada

Since coming to Vegas I have learned many things and have had many unforgettable experiences both good and bad. I came to Vegas already knowing how to play cards but soon perfected dealing and playing cards after starting school. I know most of the common games: War, Blackjack (21), Texas Hold'em, BS, Speed, and a few others. Then after about a month of being in Vegas my dad and I were invited to go witnessing at First Friday which led to me meeting many interesting people and having plenty of deep conversations with people as well as helping me learn how to witness better. At school I was the not the only PK which was very surprising to me. As far as after school activities go I joined the wrestling team and wrestled until I broke my elbow and then I attended the Robotics club for a short while. My teachers for the most part liked me because I usually asked them topics that was on subject and made them think too. I also am apart of an amazing youth group with several youth leaders. Last summer we went to a Student Life camp in Glorietta, New Mexico where I know most if not all of us had a blast! As far as meeting people goes it feels like I have met tons and tons of people and made tons of friends who are all great in there own way. Really living in Vegas and being a PK is just like being a PK anywhere else only everyone doesn't automagically go to you when they need cards.

Nerf War

There are many degrees of sibling warfare but, one of the most dangerous warfares is nerf war. Now why would nerf war be dangerous or scary? That is probably what you are thinking right about now. Well I shall now explain why nerf war is the most dangerous kind of sibling warfare. In nerf wars the rules are
1. Don't break anything Mom and Dad will notice in the next 24 hours
2. If someone gets hurt have a story to make it sound like an epic injury
3. Any toys and pillows can be used as weapons just not metal
4. If you make a mess be sure to hide it before anyone sees it
5. Never shoot The adults unless you think you are faster than them and have the bigger gun
6. Lastly have fun and do whatever it takes to win

As you can see the rules are very loose and allow several things to happen like lego mines or using couches as forts. They even allow lightsabers to be used while you are shooting someone. Unlike real warfare there are no rules about prisoners of war so if you are a prisoner good luck using the bathroom. Also you are battling with your siblings they probably will not give up as easy as your friend might because they want to prove they are better than you. Therefore be prepared for anything and always watch were you are stepping because again lego mines are dangerous and painful.

VBS (Vacation Bible School)

VBS is that one thing we all have gone to or helped with it is always changing some years its cowboys then the next year it might be Island Paradise. This year the theme is Submerged with the key verse being Psalm 139:23-24 Search me, God, and know my heart; test me and know my concerns. See if there is any offensive way in me; lead me in the everlasting way. As far as themes go this will be quite an interesting and informational. I cannot wait to watch these kids learn and grow in Christ while also having lots of fun with them. I cannot wait to see what the recreation and snacks and stories are like but can wait a little more for the songs and dances. The First Graders will hopefully not be too wild but if they are I know it will still be a blast, because VBS is always fun.

IGovern East (Generation Joshua)

Going to GenJ was really quite the experience and helped me grow and learn in not only politics but also in Christ. The trip was probably one of the more crazy parts of going to the camp. I had to fly from Vegas to Denver and then to Dulles airport. I got in a little late because of delays and got to meet some of the other campers that had also had late flights. When we got to the camp chapel had just a few minutes left so we got to sing the last worship song and then we got registered then I went to my wing chapel I can't really speak for anyone else. So we had our wing chapel then talked and went to sleep around 11pm which felt like 8pm for me. The next morning my roommate and I woke up and cleaned our dorm (which to me and him it looked good) then we went to breakfast with our counselor. I also learned then that we had 175,000$ to last the week. With meals costing 10,000 and then starting at 5,000 for room and bathroom cleaning going up however much they thought was wrong. My roommate and I learned quick  we had to dust as well as work without wing to clean the bathroom so that we could make it trough the week. The first day started quickly right after breakfast and morning devotions with, Igovern 101 and then party meetings, (the campers are split into two parties gold and blue) then we had a speaker and lunch. After lunch we had our first legislative meeting and free time the legislative meeting forme was kinda crazy because I was in the house which is way bigger than the senate. While the free time was dodgeball which is always fun. They seperated us into two groups Blue team and Gold team, then further seperated us boys and girls. The Blue team boys lost but the Blue Girls whooped up on Gold Girls. Then there were two other matches but I left before those started because me and some friends wanted to explore the camp some more. The we went to dinner and later chapel and wing chapel and then bed. The next day went about the same only less free time and a comitee meeting and the Gala. Now Gala is pronounced several ways but the ways I heard it mostly was gay-luh and gal-ah. Now the Gala was my saving grace because that was how we made money it was basically you dress up and then go talk to lobbyists who give you money for talking to them and writing bills for them and I was able to make enough money to last the rest of the week even if it wasn't the most. The next day was the field trip to DC which was very awesome and fun to me. We first went to the heritage foundation and got to listen and ask several congressmen senators and other important people questions it was very informing and cool. Then we went to Capitol Hill and watched part of a Filibuster (when a senator holds the floor for an extended amount of time to delay something) and then toured this museum area. Then almost missing the busses went back to Patrick Henry and ate dinner then went to chapel and wing chapel. During dinner I got a package from my mom and dad which contained cookies. When you get a letter package or anything in the mail the director makes you go up to him and dance with everyone else who got one doing something like the I'm a little teacup dance which isn't the worst thing in the world. The next day we had our primaries for the election and had my favorite Chapel of the week. The camp theme as Fear and the guy who talked had a lot in common with me and was easy to relate to. The next day we had a crazy storm with a tornado and then next day was the last day and we had the election that the blue party Won cause we are awesome. Then we had a talent show with lots of cool stuff. Overall the camp was fun and awesome I am really glad I was able to go and make friends. While also learning about politics and Growing in Christ.
